John McPhee was born July 10, 1967 (now celebrated as Bahamas Independence Day), the younger of a set of fraternal twins. His love for literature and the ocean was birthed out of many long hours spent reading in order to pass the time, and subsequently reading many great authors of his early childhood years while growing up in the sleepy seaside village of Betsy Bay, Mayaguana in The Bahamas. A former marine in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, he further cemented his love for literature while spending long weeks away from home on isolated cays in the archipelago. During this time, the ocean continued to be a great source of solace and sustenance. Much of
his tenure was spent as a member of the Internal Affairs Division, serving for eleven years before his departure. He later joined Jacharic Holdings where he served as Assistant Human Resource Manager and Policy and Procedure Co-ordinator. Subsequent to this, he joined American Airlines as a member of the Super Carrier Initiative Agreement (Interdiction Program).
Currently, John is the CEO and Proprietor of the Ridebahamas Transportation group of companies in the city of Nassau.
